Oplu is leading the search for a Finance and Operations Assistant to join an established UHNW family office in London.
This is a dual-track support role across finance and operations. The successful candidate supports both the Finance Manager and the Project and Operations Manager, responsible for the day-to-day running of the office across both functions: Xero reconciliations, cash reports, payment runs, supplier records, insurance claims, and the operational detail that keeps a UHNW family’s personal and professional affairs in order.
This is a deliberate hire for someone who wants to move into finance. Both the Finance Manager and the Project and Operations Manager came through a PA or support-role route into the office, then specialised. The family office hires for numeracy, ambition, and attitude, and grows the technical skills inside.
This role is best suited to an ambitious PA, EA, or Team Assistant who wants to add finance to their toolkit. It could also suit an economics, accounting, or finance graduate who has been working in a support role and is now ready to specialise.
Two candidate profiles work:
A graduate, 1 to 3 years out of university, who studied economics, accounting, finance, or a numerate discipline, and has been working as a PA, team assistant, or in a comparable support role.
An experienced PA, EA, or team assistant, 3 to 6 years, non-graduate, who is numerically confident and ready to move from a diary-first role into one that is finance-first.
The right candidate is numerate, detail-driven, a careful self-starter, and genuinely interested in how a family office works. Not a corporate accountant on autopilot. Not an EA who wants to sit at the Principal’s shoulder. Someone who wants to spend the next few years learning the back-office rhythm of a family office under the Finance Manager, who herself came through this exact route.
Fluent Spanish is a strong advantage. Studying for, or planning to study for, a professional accountancy qualification, such as ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or AAT, is welcomed and supported.
