Ready to come ashore? This is one of the best land-based roles we’ve seen for someone stepping out of yachting – or already working in private households – who wants a permanent, stable position without losing the buzz of working to exceptional standards.
A UHNW Principal in Monaco is looking for an energetic, polished Housekeeper to join an established household team of three. You’ll use all the same skills you’ve built on board – immaculate housekeeping, wardrobe care, laundry to exacting standards, and confident informal service.
When the Principal is in residence (roughly six months of the year), the pace is high and the hours are long, including weekends. You’ll need to be switched on, anticipate needs, and deliver five-star service in a relaxed but exacting environment. You’ll also be required to travel to the US and Europe with the Principal throughout the year – Monaco is your home base, but this role takes you beyond it. When back in Monaco without the Principal, the tempo shifts to deep cleans, wardrobe maintenance, and getting the property back to pristine. It’s a rhythm that suits people who love the intensity of charter season but also appreciate downtime to recharge.

Core Responsibilities
Housekeeping
- Keep the residence to immaculate, luxury standards every single day
- Detailed cleaning, laundry, ironing,
- Organise storage, pantries, and household supplies – everything in its place
- Regular deep cleans and property upkeep during quieter periods
- Monitor stock levels, manage inventories, and reorder before anyone has to ask
Informal Service
- Present yourself with confidence – neat, professional, and approachable at all times
- Serve drinks, refreshments, and light food when the Principal is hosting or entertaining
- Support with informal hosting and guest arrivals
- Respond to requests quickly and with a genuine can-do attitude
- Run errands, shopping, and occasional household admin
Requirements:
These are non-negotiables:
- Experience in a private household, luxury hotel, or yacht interior
- Full right to work in Monaco or the EU
- Excellent spoken English
- Presentable, warm, and professional – someone the Principal will enjoy having around
- Takes feedback well and adapts fast (no egos)
- H-working, reliable, and flexible to do longer hours and weekends when needed
- Willing and able to travel – valid passport and flexibility to be away from home
- Pet-friendly – there’s a dog in the household
- An obsessive eye for detail and real pride in your work
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a tight team
- Competent with basic tech – Google Docs, Google Sheets, WhatsApp
- Yacht interior / stewardess experience with some private household exposure – this role was practically designed for the sea-to-shore transition
- Private household housekeeper who’s comfortable with informal service duties in a UHNW setting
- Luxury hotel housekeeping combined with any private residence or villa experience
- UHNW villa, chalet, or estate experience – you know what “high standards” actually means in practice
- Any exposure to formal or informal service – drinks service, hosting support, guest care
Working Pattern:
- Full-time, live out (Monaco home base)
- Travel with the Principal throughout the year
- High activity and extended hours when the Principal is in residence (expect this to feel like charter season)
- Quieter periods back in Monaco for deep cleaning and organisation when the Principal is away
- Holiday to be taken primarily when the Principal is away
