POSITION AND DECRIPTION OF DUTIES

Position Description
The live-out French speaking Nanny will work closely with the parents to provide childcare for Elle, Liv, Luna and Julian.
The family is looking for someone who is patient, fun, and energetic. Candidates for this position should love adventure, but they should also feel comfortable working in a slower-paced environment. The candidate who is hired will strive to provide a warm, loving, and structured environment for the children, while setting clear and consistent expectations.
Full-Time (40 hours per week) at the family’s home in London.
Responsibilities
- Organize creative and educational activities (e.g. drawing, crafting, and games)
- Play with the children
- Take children for walks or to the park
- Supervise the children’s activities at all times
- Transport children to and from school and extracurricular activities and play dates
- Support family during local visits to friends’ homes, restaurants, events, and other family activities
- Prepare children’s meals according to their specific needs and tastes and feed them
- Change diapers and assist with potty training
- Bathe children as necessary or when parents are not available
- Dress and assist with dressing the children
- Plan and supervise bed and nap times
- Assist young students with homework
- Ensure children’s safety during all activities
- Respond immediately and appropriately to unexpected situations or emergencies
- Take care of children in case of injury or illness
- Cleaning and tidying up the children’s living spaces, such as their bedrooms, closets, drawers, bathrooms, and playrooms
- Ensure children’s growth and social development (e.g. teaching manners, teaching being respectful to each other and teaching children to help with chores)
- Communicate and interact directly with each child at the child's level
- Communicate children’s behaviors to parents and agree on consistent discipline and always adhere to the childcare philosophy of the parents’ choice
- Administer medicine to the children, as necessary and directed
- Travel with the Family as needed
- All other duties as assigned
Compensation
- £20/hr
- Discretionary Bonus
Qualification Requirements
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- A genuine passion for working with children.
- Patience and communication skills to successfully interact with the children, understand their needs and make them be receptive to your requests.
- Organization skills to create a daily schedule that encompasses all the activities the parents want their children to attend.
- Problem-solving skills to be able to successfully deal with everyday issues that inevitably occur.
- Cooking and cleaning skills for nanny roles that also imply additional duties, such as making meals for the children and cleaning their living spaces.
- Ability to guide the family to help them maximize the development of their children.
- First Aid and CPR Certification.
- Able to pass an in-depth background investigation.
- Able to work legally in the United Kingdom
- Must be able to make a long-term commitment.
- Fluency in French & English.
- Must be able to travel with the family when they travel. The family has multiple residences and travel frequently as a family.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use their hands, and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 5-25 pounds.
