EXPERIENCED LIVE-OUT HOUSEKEEPER JOB FOR LARGE FAMILY HOME IN CAMBRIDGESHIRE
Our high-net worth client, a lovely young family of four, is recruiting for a live-out, experienced Executive Housekeeper level candidate for their beautiful home in Cambridge. As the ideal candidate you will either have 5 years+ experience of working as a Housekeeper in a large, privately-run residence or within 5* hotel establishments. This is not a managerial role, but we are looking for someone who will have the understanding, confidence and capabilities to implement household processes and with a good level of tech knowledge within the work place.
You will have excellent standards of cleanliness and hygiene within the home and a great eye for detail. You will be a self-starter who is able to use their initiative and knows what needs to be done, thinking two steps ahead always. You will be able to take direction from your Principals when given and will work seamlessly as part of a wider household support team. Exceptionally organised, friendly and dedicated with full understanding of private household etiquette, knowing when to come forward and when to be an invisible presence.
Your role will include, but not limited to:
Daily cleaning duties around the home, (knowledge of which cleaning materials can and cannot be used on various surfaces)
Deep cleaning
Organising and tidying around the home (cleaning activities such as sweeping, mopping, dusting and polishing)
Ensuring that the inside of vehicles are kept clean, any rubbish disposed and stock levels within the vehicles maintained
Laundry and ironing
Wardrobe management (dry cleaning, hand washing, ironing, wardrobe management)
Washing and changing of linen
Taking deliveries and putting the food shop away
Laying the table for guests and dinner parties
Preparing the home for guests (arranging for fresh flower arrangements in the home, ensuring refreshments can be served and so on)
Flexibility to work on a Saturday or Sunday morning when required – taking this time back in lieu
Unpacking the children’s school bags as well as assisting with packing and unpacking for any travel
Candidate requirements:
Able to work as a team - the family have a full-time chef, 2 x PA's and a part-time housekeeping assistant
Child friendly (assisting with childcare duties such as but not limited to; occasional school run, or looking after child when needed)
Pet friendly (dog walking if happy to do so)
Someone who has a “muck-in” attitude and who is able to get on with their daily duties
Someone who is fit and active
Driving licence (you may be required to run occasional errands) and candidates who have their own vehicle to get to and from the property daily
Helping out with meals when the Chef is on holiday or to cover sickness
Implementing processes within the house to track daily and weekly tasks
Implementing process for checking and ordering stock levels
Check stocking levels of all consumables and replacing when appropriate
Keeping records of any receipts for items purchasing and tracking expenditure through Xero Expenses app
Protecting equipment and making sure there are no inadequacies
Notify superiors on any damages, deficits and disturbances
Adhering strictly to rules regarding health and safety and being aware of any company-related practices
Assisting with day to day tasks and running errands
Answering telephone or taking messages
Local or online shopping
Dealing with contractors/tradesmen and arranging any required property maintenance
